5 Reasons to Incorporate Letter Writing with Kids

· letter writing · Tips + Tricks

Letter writing helps develop much-needed skillsets in children, but in such a fun way akin to kids crafts!

Establish a pen pal (locally who they know, far away in another country, or even both) and let them explore creative writing in a fun way while building writing and communication skills (and friendships of a lifetime).

Here are 5 reasons why you should incorporate letter writing with kids:

  1. Helps them organize their thoughts using storytelling
  2. Helps build their handwriting coordination (and style!)
  3. Helps them think about others and understand how what they write will affect others
  4. Helps build social emotional development
  5. Helps them understand the inner workings of the postal system

There are many, many more, but these are my fave!

If you're ready to get started, Lucky Dog's mini card packs are the perfect undaunting stationery to get your little writer engaged. Cards are flat with a fun pattern on one side and blank on the back for the message. You can find them at https://shop.luckydogdesign.co/collections/mini-card-packs.
